by The Holiday Elf

Published at 2022-11-30

The holidays are fast approaching, and there is lots to do! Gift shopping, holiday baking, cleaning, decorating, scheduling visits with family and friends…and maybe fitting in one last writing project or two. If you are doing just that and find yourself in the need for a last-minute editor to help you meet your goal, we have a gift for you!

Below are the profiles of TEC editors who offer their own freelance services. And they have a lot to offer! If it seems like one of these talented editors might be a good match for your project, please feel free to connect with them directly. They are standing by!

Lesley-Anne Longo

Hello! My name is Lesley-Anne, and if you’ve been a long-time reader of the TEC blog then chances are you already know a bit about me, but here’s a rundown just in case: I have an Honours BA in Professional Writing and Communications from York University, and graduated with High Honours from Centennial College’s Book + Magazine Publishing program in 2013. I’ve been working as an editor ever since!

I love to work on a variety of projects, but my usual freelance repertoire consists of romance manuscripts and motivational/self-help books. If you’re looking for a developmental edit, copy edit, or proofread for your fiction or non-fiction book, I’d love to talk to you about it and see how we can work together to bring the vision you have for your book to life!

You can reach me at lesleylongo@gmail.com or check out my website, lesleyannelongo.com.

Michael Bedford

Hello! My name is Michael Bedford. I'm a freelance writer and generalist editor. I completed The Chang School's Publishing Certificate Program and I hold a BA in Theatre Studies and a BA in Philosophy. I'm also a playwright and a dramaturg.

As a generalist, each topic I work on allows me an opportunity to learn something new. That said, I love science-fiction stories, and consider myself any sci-fi writer's target demographic when it comes to an editor with knowledge of the genre.

You can reach me at mbedford4687@gmail.com or, for a full list of the services I provide, visit me at https://mgbeditor.wordpress.com/.

The end of the year is a great time to finish that project off so contact me if there's anything I can do to help.

Samantha Rohrig

I received my Certificate in Publishing from Toronto Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson University) and have been editing in an official capacity since 2020. Prior to that, I was doing graduate studies in ancient history, so I have a particular affinity for editing academic books and articles and helping authors with their citations and reference lists. I can provide copyediting, proofreading, and indexing services on a wide range of non-fiction and academic projects and am well-versed in MLA, Chicago, and APA styles.

Though I am an avid fiction reader and would love to discuss my favourite current reads with you (right now, Interview with the Vampire), I cannot take on fiction editing at this time. However, if you have a non-fiction or academic project that needs a second pair of eyes before publication, I would be happy to help!

You can reach me at samrohrig@live.ca or connect with me via LinkedIn at linkedin.com/in/samantha-rohrig. Looking forward to working with you!
