TEC Is On The Move!

Today is our last day at 360 Bloor St. West, Suite 507. The Editing Company is moving on Monday, November 1, 2010. They say that with a new move, comes new opportunities.

I believe that, because two years ago when we moved into 360 Bloor, we were just starting out as a company. Over the past two years, we have reinforced our existing networks while building new relationships with a variety of clients and handling an exciting array of editorial projects.

One exciting project had our permission editors handling the research and copyright clearance of photographs included in the recently released Blood, Sweat and Tears by David Clayton-Thomas. Working with a rock star, no less!

Another project found us editing the 750-page Proceedings of the 14th International Conference of Circumpolar Health, soon to be published by the International Journal of Circumpolar Health. The conference was held in Yellowknife in July 2009. Our client was impressed with how our careful editing improved the overall quality of the collection.

In addition, we launched our website and began our amazing series of blogs. And in September, we sponsored two authors at this year’s Word On The Street. (Tip: Watch for a book review of Richard B. Wright’s Mr. Shakespeare’s Bastard in Nadine’s blog next week.)

Our team has morphed, too. We’ve gained and lost members over the past two years. It’s always hard to see an editor move on. But it’s always inspiring to welcome new energy and commitment.

All of this and more took place within our office at 360 Bloor.

On Monday, we are moving into a slightly larger space. Our new suite has two windows, one of which has a beautiful southern exposure. Despite being at the heart of Carlton and Yonge, the office is quiet and calm – exactly what we need for focused editorial work.  And it is filled with natural light. The warmth of the sun this winter will indeed keep our spirits lifted.

Our new home is located at 27 Carlton Street, Suite 404. By Tuesday (November 2) our phones and email will be back up and running. Both our phone number (416-924-3856) and email address (editor@theeditingco.com) remain the same.

We look forward to settling in to our new digs, to continuing our working relationships with our many wonderful clients, and to enjoying the many new challenges and projects that come our way.
